Default Mary Helen's "Origami Hex Fold" Tea Bag Folding Challenge(October)

Hello and welcome to the October tea bag folding challenge! This month we will be using an interesting new fold by Mary Helen that only requires one large tile or one piece of paper cut into the hexagon shape. You can find instruction for Mary Helen's "Origami Hex Fold" here:
http://www.circleofcrafters.com/foru...ead.php?t=9954

Note that if you click on the fold sheet, then save the one that pops up, when you print it, it should print full size.

You can either use the hexagon cutting template that Mary Helen has provided to cut origami paper, or any thin paper, into the hexagon shape or use one of these hexagon tiles by Lucy(or use any hexagon tile that you find online):
http://www.circleofcrafters.com/foru...ead.php?t=9979

Remember you only need one large tile for this fold. The finished "medallion" will be half the size of the paper you start with, so a 6 inch hexagon tile will be 3 inches across after folding. Use either variation, 3 petal or 6 petal.

*Use any tile(s) or paper to create this fold.

*Post your entry as a reply under this topic. One entry per person. To get comments on your entry, please also post your project as a "New Topic" in the tea bag folding section here.

Prize:
The prize for this challenge will be a $50.00 USD gift certificate for craft supplies from our list of suppliers including Joanna Sheen, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and many more to choose from. The winner will be chosen randomly but your entry can earn extra chance(s) to win by being voted "most creative" by our anonymous judges.

Deadline:
The deadline to enter this challenge is October 31st, 2011.

Have fun and good luck in the challenge!

Default October Challenge

Thank you Mary Helen for this unique fold.
I have some wrinkle issues on the points I will have to work on when I do this fold again, but have a very busy month ahead, so thought I would go ahead and post this challenge entry.

Default My entry

Here is my entry for this month's challenge. I used Christmas wrapping paper for the hexagonal tile and added it to a stitched Christmas border I had already done and hadn't decided what to put in the middle. The border is by Mappie Design.

Default My October Challenge

My card is a double tag card. As I only had double sided paper and not card I had to mount it onto card stock for stability. Thanks for the fold Mary Helen. Hope you like it.

Here is my entry made with origami paper.
Because it was fairly plain I used a busy background
picking up the tones
and added some quicklet leaves.
Thanks for a lovely fold Mary helen
I'll have a lot of fun with this one.

Default Mary Helen's Entry

I'm delighted my hexagon origami fold was selected for challenge, this uses two hex folds with snowflakes added. Mary Helen
